According to an Iranian general, 240 fighter jets supplied by the US and NATO were ready to defend the Zionists. The general also stated that just 20% of the offensive capability of one division of the IRGC Aerospace Force was used during Iran’s missile strike on Israel.
Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters Major General Gholam Ali Rashid provided details regarding the Iranian armed forces’ “True Promise Operation” against Israeli military sites last month in an interview with the Iranian daily “Iran.”
The Israeli regime’s bombardment on the consular department of Iran’s embassy in Damascus on April 1 prompted the IRGC Aerospace Force to launch tens of missiles and drones on military targets in the occupied territories in the early hours of April 14.
According to General Rashid, the operation was only executed by one division of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force, and even that division barely used 20% of its offensive capacity during the operation.
He claimed that the Zionist regime’s anti-missile systems and the different anti-missile air defense systems of US warships in the Red and Mediterranean Seas were both on high alert. Meanwhile, the US, NATO, CENTCOM, and the Zionist regime had readied 240 fighter jets.
According to the general, the IRGC Aerospace Force’s lone division was ready to follow orders and unleash the last 80% of its offensive capability in a new round of strikes.
The general pointed out that the Iranian commanders came to the conclusion that the operation was adequate to punish the Zionist regime.
He went on to say that the assistance the governments of the US, UK, France, and Europe gave the Israeli rule was similar to what happened during the Crusades.
