Aparajita, the first AI News Anchor of Bangladesh presented her first news on 19th July, Wednesday. The AI News Anchor was introduced by Channel 24, a private TV channel in Bangladesh. Aparajita is an Artificial Intelligence and is capable of presenting news in the Bengali language, which is the country’s national language.

The introduction of AI in news presentations is something that is happening rapidly. On 9th July, Indian TV channel Odisha TV introduced India’s first Odian AI News Anchor, Lisa. Lisa is also an ai-generated presenter who is capable of speaking English and Odian but can speak many more languages.

Through the release of ChatGPT last year in November, the use of AI has increased exponentially. Now in different fields such as writing, designing, development, presentation, etc., people are utilizing the power of AI. This not only alleviates human efforts but also allows us to accomplish tasks faster. “There are several complications with light, camera, and studio. To decrease these complications, AI is being used.” – said one of the crew of Channel 24.

Conclusion

The advancement in AI technology is remarkable. As technology progresses, we should also learn to adopt it. India introduced two AI news anchors in the past, but for Bangladesh, Aparajita is the first AI news anchor. In the future, other channels might also introduce AI news anchors to lower the burden on actual news anchors.
