Jordan airdrops aid supplies in Gaza on November 6. Earlier, Jordan and Israel announced the delivery of critical medical supplies to a field hospital in Gaza. On Monday morning, King Abdullah II of Jordan declared that the Jordanian air force had provided “urgent medical aid” to the field hospital that the kingdom has been running in the enclave since 2009.

“A royal air force plane dropped urgent medical aid using parachutes to the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza, whose supplies were about to run out due to the delay in delivering aid through the Rafah crossing,” Jordan’s state news agency reported, citing a military source in the Jordanian Armed Forces.

“It is our duty to assist our brothers and sisters injured in the Gaza war, and we will always be there for our Palestinian brothers and sisters.”

Later that day, Israel’s military announced in a statement that it had “coordinated” with its Arab neighbor on the drop, which included food.

“The equipment will be used by the medical staff for patients,” according to the statement.

The people of Gaza are deprived of food, medicines, electricity, water, etc. because Israel declared a total siege. Since then the Israeli military have continued their relentless air strikes and bombardments throughout Gaza killing and injuring thousands of innocent civilians. The hospitals in Gaza are running out of supplies rapidly due to the large number of patients and the blockage of supplies.

Jordan’s air force dropped much-needed medical supplies to a Jordanian field hospital in Gaza. This was the first time supplies were seen to be airdropped from a plane since the beginning of the war.

Last month, Saudi Arabia’s Arab News reported, citing an unnamed official, that the Jordanian field hospital was facing an “existential threat” and would likely cease operations shortly due to a lack of supplies in the midst of Israeli airstrikes.

Humanitarian organizations have warned of a rising humanitarian crisis as a result of Israel’s blockade and bombing of the enclave, which has resulted in a lack of food, water, electricity, and gasoline.

On Sunday, the chiefs of 18 United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations released a rare unified statement denouncing the Gaza siege as “unacceptable” and demanding that relief be provided “safely, quickly, and at the scale required.”

The airdrop occurred as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken landed in Turkey as part of a high-stakes diplomatic trip to the area that included stops in Israel, the occupied West Bank, Jordan, and Iraq.

Death toll in Gaza

Jordan, like other Arab countries, has severely denounced Israel’s shelling of Gaza, which has killed at least 9,922 Palestinians, according to Hamas officials.
